Straightening is a method of straightening the hair’s kinks through the power of chemicals and heat.
Frizzy hair is a condition in which the proteins inside the hair are bound together in a distorted manner. The degree of distortion differs from person to person, so there are many different types of kinky hair that can grow from loose waves to chilly natural perms.
The protein distortion of the hair before it grows out cannot be cured. Straightening is the process of unbinding the protein bonds in the hair that has already grown out and forcing them back together again to straighten it.
Difference from normal perms
Common perms are called cold perms, which add wave to the hair using only the power of chemicals. Straightening is a type of hot perm, which uses chemicals and heat to powerfully straighten frizzy hair.
The effect of a cold perm wears off after about two months, and the hair tries to return to its original state. In contrast, with hair straightening, once the hair is straightened, it remains straight semi-permanently and does not revert back to its original kinks.
However, this only applies to the part of the hair that has been straightened, and newly grown hair will remain kinky.
Can be short.
When you think of hair straightening, you may think of women with long hair, but it can be done on men as well.
If it is too short, it may not be possible, but at least 5 cm is sufficient. A technically skilled hairdresser can apply even 2 cm.
Even men who have given up on longer hairstyles because of their curly hair can achieve flowing straight hair. However, there are individual differences in how long it lasts. Face lines, such as bangs and the fringe, are especially susceptible to having their frizziness noticed at a faster pace, and often need to be reapplied after about 2 to 3 months.
This is because with long hair, the weight of the hair pulls the kinks out of the hairline and makes them less noticeable, but men have shorter hair, so the kinks are more noticeable.
A note of caution that is always said
Because of the powerful chemicals used in hair straightening, it takes 24 to 48 hours for the hair to stabilize after the treatment.
If you apply an addition to the hair during this unstable state, it will result in strange kinks. This is a precaution that every hair salon will always tell you to take, but do not get your hair wet for 24 hours.
Avoid shampooing and wearing hats, too. If you must shampoo, gently scrub only the scalp. Salon shampoos are also recommended, as commercial shampoos are quite strong in cleaning power. If your work requires the use of a hat or hair elastic, try not to constrict your hair too much.
Since you have gone through the trouble of straightening your hair, please treat it with care for 24 hours, preferably 48 hours.
Straight dream
Hair straightening varies from salon to salon, both in the chemicals used and the ironing method. Some salons straighten hair without using an iron.
Since the quality of straightening depends on the technique, it is advisable to choose a salon that specializes in straightening menus when selecting a store.
