Wigs can become stuffy not only in summer, but also in winter in overheated rooms. Even if you choose a product that is resistant to steam, you may still have problems with wig steam. Here are some measures to ease the steaminess of wigs.
Use something other than a full wig.
Full wigs, which cover the entire scalp, are inevitably prone to steam. Using half wigs or point wigs instead of full wigs reduces steaminess.
For those who use wigs for hair loss, it is recommended to use an inner wig in combination with a hat or bandana. Wearing a cloth item on the head and an inner wig allows the scalp to breathe. Inner wigs should be long and tied in two pieces to keep the neck cool.
Insert a sweat pad or other pad
When using a full wig, put something between the wig and your scalp that will absorb sweat, because sweat on the scalp is uncomfortable when it steams. Place it between the wig net and your natural hair. A sweat pad used for armpit sweat control can be used as is.
If you want to absorb sweat over a wide area, use underwear with a sweat-absorbing function, cut to fit the shape of your head. In either case, choose black ones so that they will not show through the wig or be noticed if they slip out of place.
Use refrigerant
For those who suffer from heat inside the wig as well as steam, use a neck cooler of antifreeze gel used for illness, or a smaller cooler for food to keep cool. Place the coolant between the wig net and the natural hair.
The thickness of the cooling agent will raise the back of your head, so arrange your hair so that it looks like you are wearing a full head of hair. When used with underwear cut with sweat absorbing function, it will also absorb sweat from the scalp, making it more comfortable.
Keep wigs clean.
A steamed and sweaty wig not only smells bad, but is also an environment where bacteria can easily grow. Care is essential to keep a steamed wig clean.
After combing the wig, wash it from the front and back with a special shampoo and rinse it thoroughly until there are no more bubbles. After wiping off the moisture with a towel, let it dry naturally.
It is hard to endure the steaminess of a wig. We want to make it as comfortable as possible by taking measures to prevent steaming.
