A hard scalp hinders hair growth. The hair trying to grow out from under the scalp cannot “break through” the scalp.
This can be easily understood by imagining jeans fabric, for example. If you poke a needle into a hard fabric from underneath, it won’t go through easily.
Even though the hair is trying to grow normally, the hard scalp is preventing it. This results in problems such as “few hairs” and “when they do grow, they are only weak hairs.
In addition, a hard scalp is said to have poor circulation. Red blood cells carry oxygen and nutrients necessary for hair growth. If this is stagnant, hair growth itself is also hindered.
