Hair without follicles is dangerous! If you suffer from hair loss, check your hair follicles!

Thinning hair is now a problem not only for men but also for women. Hair loss is gradually increasing, but the cause is unknown… If you are suffering from hair loss, we recommend checking the condition of your hair follicles.

Let’s start with normal hair follicles!

Hair that has fallen out under normal conditions has firm hair follicles, and there is still regrowth in the follicles. With natural hair loss, there is nothing to worry about.

If you look at the hair that has fallen out and the hair root at the base of the hair looks like a matchstick, this is the normal hair root of naturally falling out hair. We will consider this as a standard, so let’s compare it to other hair follicles.

In the case of missing hair follicles, hair loss may progress rapidly if not addressed early. It is not pleasant to see hairs that have fallen out, but it is necessary when checking.

High-risk hair loss has no hair follicles!

What does hair loss without hair follicles mean? It may be intractable alopecia areata as a highly dangerous and time-consuming condition to treat. It cannot be treated with hair growth products alone, so it is best to consult a specialist and incorporate counseling.

Another problem is hair loss of less than 10 cm in length with hair follicles that are present and quite fine. This is a condition in which the inside of the pore is quite weak and hair loss progresses rapidly. Even if it grows back later, it may only be a hair growth and requires highly effective hair growth.

My hair follicles are white! Are you okay!

I checked my hair loss and found that there were hair follicles but they were white. You may feel uneasy in such a case.

There is no danger in hair loss with white hair follicles. Hair absorbs melanin pigment from the hair follicles during the growth process and turns black. Hair that falls out during the normal growth cycle usually has white or transparent hair follicles because the melanin pigment has been absorbed by the hair ends. Conversely, if the hair follicles are black, it is possible that the hair has fallen out during growth.

A translucent film over the hair follicles is also not so dangerous. It is called the “follicle sheath,” the tissue that attaches hair follicles to the scalp, and it may accompany hair loss during the natural cycle.

However, if you see white clumps on the hair follicles, you should be careful. This is thought to be due to overproduction of sebum, which causes the pores to become clogged with sebum and dirt. In this case, it is likely to lead to thinning hair and other scalp problems, so take appropriate measures.

It is not recommended to use a strong detergent shampoo to remove sebum stains. It will remove even the sebum necessary to protect the scalp, which in turn causes excessive sebum secretion. Use a mild shampoo and rinse carefully to rinse out dirt from pores.

5 major characteristics of the type of hair follicles that can be checked for hair loss.

As we have shown you, you can distinguish the danger and causes of hair loss by the shape and condition of the hair follicles. Let us now focus on five and introduce the causes of hair loss by hair root.

  1. Dangerous natural hair loss follicles!
Among natural hair loss, there is a type of hair follicle that has a shortened hair life span. The lifespan of hair is about 4 years for men and 6 years for women, but in some cases, it is more likely to fall out due to reduced regrowth. If you have hair follicles with bulges that are becoming smaller than matchsticks, you can assume that you are experiencing chronic hair loss.

Thin and small hair follicles indicate that the hair root tissue is weakened. It does not mean that the risk of thinning hair is high, but it is worth noting.

Even if the hair follicles look healthy at first glance, be careful when you see something like a whisker on the tip. It is thought that dandruff or other scalp abnormalities are causing inflammation and causing hair to fall out earlier than its lifespan. In this case, hair care and other measures taken as soon as possible may be sufficient for recovery.

  1. What if the hair follicles have become even thinner?
If the hair follicles are even thinner than the follicles that are chronically losing hair, there is a possibility of pervasive alopecia. This is not a condition in which the hair cannot grow, but it lacks the nutritional support of the hair and has only enough strength left to easily fall out at the slightest touch. Consider that thinning hair is progressing in the scalp and hair follicles more than it appears, and start taking care of it.
  2. Hair loss without hair follicles is difficult to deal with.
In alopecia areata, there is a white oil-like substance on the tips of weak hair follicles. Some hair follicles also have thin, needle-like points at the ends. Even in this case, hair care and physical and emotional care must be taken simultaneously, and the recurrence rate is high.

In refractory alopecia areata, which has progressed further from that stage, there are no hair follicles to be seen when the hair falls out. Once it has progressed to this point, hair loss cannot be improved without professional support.

  1. Are there some types of hair loss that cannot be cured with hair growth products?
Stress-induced hair loss has been prominent recently. The hair follicles are either absent or so thin that they are difficult to distinguish. Some hair follicles may be similar to those of natural hair loss, but the probability of them growing back after falling out is probably low. Improvement with hair growth products alone should be considered difficult.
  2. Short, thinning hair loss is dangerous!
If skinny hair falls out within 10 cm, it must be carefully observed. This is because the life span of the hair is shortening and this is the type of hair that is thinning rapidly. There are hair follicles, but it is safe to assume that these follicles have no strength. Hair loss cannot be cured by hair growth products alone.

As mentioned above, a thorough check of the condition of the hair follicles will help you determine the extent of the danger. If you are concerned about hair loss, check your hair once.
