Soft and fluffy hair with a cute and popular atmosphere is a loose perm. Let’s create such hairstyles effectively with styling products. Here we introduce items that can be used for each type of perm, along with how to use them.
There are three types of perms.
When you have a perm, what method does your hair stylist use? There are three main perm methods: traditional cold perm, digital perm or air wave perm, which uses a special machine to apply heat to the hair to create a shape-memory wave, and creep perm, which takes longer but does not use a machine to create a shape-memory wave.
Cold perm is most likely to produce waves when the hair is wet, while the other three types are characterized by their tendency to produce waves when the hair is dry. With this point in mind, the next section will show you how to create a loose, fluffy style.
Mousse for cold perm
The traditional standard cold perm style produces the most waves when the hair is wet, and as the hair dries, the waves will fade away. To create a loose, fluffy style, it is best to use a mousse with natural setting power and rub the foam into the hair while the hair is still slightly wet.
Although this perm has the advantage of being quick, it does not last as long as other perms, and the waves tend to fall out easily, so it may be difficult to recreate the look with styling products. If possible, it is better to choose another perm after consulting with a hair stylist.
For digital perm and air wave perm, use oil and milk-based treatment.
Digital perms and air wave perms, which apply heat to the hair to create a shape-memory wave, are characterized by the fact that curls are easily created even when the hair is dry. However, since the application of heat can damage the hair, treatment types such as oil and milk or soft waxes are best suited for this type of perm.
When applying to hair, take an appropriate amount of each product in the palm of your hand, spread it out thoroughly, and apply it in a lifting motion as if you are curling hair from the ends upward. The trick is to apply a small amount to the inside of the hairstyle, as a sticky application will cause the waves to fall out easily.
Creep perm is wax or mousse
Creep perm is less damaging and easier to apply than other perms because it takes time to form the wave. Wax or mousse is recommended for styling with this type of perm.
Using mousse and rubbing it into the entire hair will give it a glossy and relatively clear wave, resulting in an elegant styling. Spread a small amount of wax onto the palm of your hand and apply it to the ends of the hair, lifting it up to create a fluffy hairstyle.
It is surprising that suitable styling products differ depending on the type of perm. Make full use of items that match the characteristics of each perm to achieve a nice loose and fluffy style.
