I am too busy to go to a salon… Getting a perm at a salon takes a lot of time and money… For such people, commercially available perms are convenient. They are mainly made to straighten your hair.
However, many people have experienced that even if they use a commercial perm product, it does not straighten their hair as straight as they would like, or that it has damaged their hair. In fact, there are some tricks to successfully perm your hair at home. Please refer to them.
Master the art of straight perm at home in 6 steps for a shiny, smooth look!
- Brush the dirt out of your hair.
Brush the hair to keep it in place. Brushing in advance removes dirt and improves the effect of perm products. If you have long hair or a large amount of hair, block it beforehand. - Apply the first coat.
Apply the first coat according to the instructions for the permanent wave. Leave at least 1cm of space at the root part, which is close to the skin and easily damaged, and apply it so that it is distributed throughout the hair. The hair at the top of the head and the nape of the neck, where body temperature is high and where perms are more likely to be applied, should be applied last to minimize damage. After applying to the entire area, comb through the hair to straighten it out. - Follow the instructions for leaving the hair in place.
Follow the instructions on the perm agent and leave it on for the duration specified in the instruction manual. This time must be kept! Commercial perming products are stronger than those used at beauty salons, and hair is easily damaged, so be absolutely punctual! After the time is up, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. - Blow-dry evenly.
Reblock the hair again and blow-dry the hair, gently pulling the hair to straighten it. Since hair is vulnerable to damage at this point, it is important to avoid concentrating the warm air of the hair dryer on one spot. - Rub in the two agents.
Next, apply the second agent without blocking. Apply the second agent evenly to the entire hair by rubbing it in. After the time as described in the instructions has elapsed, rinse thoroughly. Some perming agents may recommend using only conditioner without shampooing, so please read the instructions carefully and follow the directions.
Blow-dry to finish
The final step is to blow-dry. Carefully blow-dry hair in small sections. The top of the head and ends of the hair, which tend to dry out easily, should be blown out last. This is the only way to enjoy salon-like straight perm at home.
Home perms beware here!
Commercial perm products are very potent. Be careful not to get it on the roots of your hair, and try to avoid getting it on your clothes or skin. Working with a large bath towel wrapped around you and applying a protective cream such as Vaseline to your collar, forehead, and ears is another trick to avoid causing problems.
And always wear gloves on your hands. As long as you follow the instructions and precautions, you can enjoy shiny, silky, straight hair from tomorrow, which is the advantage of straight perm at home.
